However beautiful a swimsuit or bikini may be, if it doesn't fit properly it stays in the wardrobe. With this guide, we take the guesswork out of choosing your size — the biggest worry when buying swimwear online — so you can add to your basket with peace of mind.

First, Take Your Measurements

Three measurements with a tape measure are all you need: bust (around the fullest point of the bust), waist (around the narrowest part of the waist) and hips (around the widest point of the hips). When measuring, hold the tape close enough to touch the skin without pulling it tight.

Read the Size Chart Correctly

Every brand's fit is different; the "I always wear an S" approach can mislead you with swimwear. MOVOM patterns are our own designs and run small compared with standard European sizes. If you're between two sizes and comfort is your priority, we recommend choosing the larger size. For up-to-date measurements, take a look at the MOVOM size chart.

Sizing Behaves Differently by Style

Underwired and bustier styles give the body structured support, so choose your exact size; triangle and tie styles are adjustable, which allows some flexibility between two sizes. Ruched (smocked) fabrics are more forgiving thanks to their stretch. You'll find fit notes in the description of every style in our bikini collection.

If Your Top and Bottom Are Different Sizes

Most bodies don't fit neatly into a single size — and that's completely normal. If you need a different size on top and bottom, check the measurements for each piece against the size chart before you order, and choose each one according to your own measurements.

If You're Still Unsure
